Better Running Through Walking -
“Run-walk” is an excellent technique I have been using since my early days of training for a marathon. Reduce injury and increase speed, give it a try if you haven’t already, your body will thank you.
Thanks Peeyush for sharing this link.
Swam 30 min at the Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club. Nice lap pool doesn’t make up for lack of swimming ability. I’ll have to put in time and effort to learn to rotate my head in water, and breathe.
Biked a total of 4 miles — home to REI and back. I’m thinking I should bike to work everyday, it’s about 3.2 miles.
Excellent idea by The Team to have an introductory session for swimming, the most feared part of a Tri. Tim, who I was going to carpool with had his car towed ‘cos of the Carnaval in the Mission. So I braved the drive myself, 22 miles to San Anselmo high school to put my aquatic skills a try.
Step 1: Lay on one side (in the water, of course) and paddle feet to move forward, rotating your head in and out of the water, to breathe.
I think that’s where I’m gonna be for a while.
Signed up for the Big Kahuna Half-Ironman — October 25th, 2009.
